We will deliver empowerment programmes for marginalised women through training and support to earn income, start and run their own businesses and have better access and control over resources. Empowering a woman is empowering her family which in the long term has a ripple effect on her community and nation. And empowered women and girls are the best hope for sustainable development. They are the best drivers of growth and fight against poverty and the best hope for reconciliation in conflict affected areas.
We give talks, presentations and run workshops meant to raise the aspirations of young people and women and raising awareness about Female Genital Mutilation. Most of the sessions are usually delivered by Valentine Nkoyo who is a human rights activist, public speaker, advocate for education and FGM activist. Valentine has spoken at local, national and international conferences, schools, events and has runs workshops at different events. She links her talks and workshops with her personal life story of growing up in a big Maasai polygamous family in Kenya, growing up in poverty, fighting for an education as a young Maasai girl, undergoing FGM and how she has overcome all the obstacles and now supporting others to achieve their goals in life.
